Application System Analyst

Description:

We are looking for Application System Analyst for our client in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a 6- month contract with the possibility of extension. ***100% Remote*** The Application System Analyst will support development efforts related to updating security within our application portfolio. The Application System Analyst will work within an agile team delivering solutions to support infrastructure, software, security, and technology modernization initiatives, ensuring high quality solutions for patients and members.

Responsibilities:

• Under minimal supervision, plans, designs, tests, implements, supports and analyzes programs and software.
• Consults with users to identify current operating procedures for departmental changes, defines system requirements, and identifies programming and/or application functional requirements.
• Based upon technical and procedural information, recommends designs for new or updated systems, and develops system specifications and programming guidelines.
• May also document application changes for program development and corrections, and help ensure that all change management policies and procedures are being applied.
• For technology projects, may be responsible for creating and maintaining relevant project management documents, including work plans, status reports and risk assessments, and may help guide project tasks among the Application Systems Analysts team.
• Applying an understanding of the business aspects and technical approach to a project, designs test cases, scenarios and scripts to meet current and future project testing needs.

Education and Experience:

• Required Associate’s Degree
• 2 years of relevant experience planning, design, testing, implementation, support, analysis of programs and software, and or a participant in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation
• Experience with SQL programming, stored procedures, database functions, design tables, select statements, views, etc. (e.g. Oracle 12g / SQL Server 2008R2)
• Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems
• Experience in performing QA responsibilities
• Effective and self-sufficient in working within a diverse technology portfolio
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret technical requirements

Preferred skills/experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience with privileged account management for application development
• Experience supporting systems across a broad technology stack using that includes FTP, ETL, and Web Service capabilities using ServiceNow, RunDeck, Toad, Informatica, PowerShell.
